Personal Branding Photo Shoot with Graphic Designer Emsy Design in Shoreditch

Brand, AI and Graphic Designer Emma McCarthy

Personal Branding Session in London with Nicole Engelmann

I’ve had so much fun during my photo session with Emma this summer. Her being a brand designer specialising in colourful and vibrant designs made Shoreditch the ideal location for our branding shoot.

Creative, Edgy, Fun

Those are the 3 words Emma described her brand as before our planning call, which made me look forward to working with her even more and confirmed East London would be a good fit for her personal branding shoot. A bit about Emma, she’s a brand, AI and graphic designer, her target audience wants to disrupt the market by designing identities that are colourful, typographic and 'in your face'. She told me she likes to work with small businesses who have a unique tone of voice, usually those who are a little bit tongue-in-cheek like herself!

Her brand colours are cyan, pink, black and white, which she hoped to include in her photos where possible, but she wasn’t too stressed over the colours as long as the branding photos were bright and colourful. Emma wanted to convey her personality - being from South London she likes the urban style and is quite down-to-earth and bubbly. Her tone of voice through her branding is tongue-in-cheek, abrupt and no-nonsense. But at the same time, she wanted the photos to look professional so that people trust her with their branding identity.

We’ve instantly connected and had a great time exploring Shoreditch together. We took a good mix of images including colourful backdrops, but also made a point of choosing a few neutral settings as well that showcased Emma at work and some flatlays to use on her social media future website. During our planning call I also suggested bringing along some confetti as well as the other props we discussed. Confetti is a great way to add more colour, but it can also convey a joyous feeling, it adds fun and makes everyone smile.
